Howell’s Point

Named after Riverton’s founder Captain John Howell, Howell’s Point is a recreation reserve on privately owned farm-land encompassing the headland at the entrance to the bay. A great place for family picnics, walking, bird-watching, rock-collecting and fishing. Visitors can climb to the lighthouse at the point of the headland for incredible 360 degree views across to Invercargill, Bluff and Stewart Island/Rakiura.
