Cosy Nook, Pahia

Cosy Nook is a picturesque rocky cove sheltering several fishing boats and a handful of old holiday cribs about 10 minutes drive out of Riverton, on the way to Orepuki. It is an important cultural and historical Maori settlement site. Originally the site of an old Maori Pa called ‘Pahees’. During the 1820’s Pahi consisted of nearly 50 whare (houses) and was one largest villages in coastal Southland.
